LITTLE KING: GREATER BELFAST

Edinburgh Fringe 2016 

We at SM Publicity are DJs, self-taught pianists and vinyl obsessives so we were excited to work on Greater Belfast at the Traverse Theatre during the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016. 

Part gig, part play and shot through with the patter, slang and caustic black humour of Belfast, this autobiographical song cycle reflects on Little King aka Matt Regan's upbringing in Northern Ireland’s capital in the era of the Good Friday Agreement and his bittersweet relationship with the city today.

Little King collaborated with Julian Corrie aka Miaoux Miaoux (Chvrches, Phantom Band and Mogwai remixer and Franz Ferdinand member) to create the accompanying Greater Belfast album. Listen to three tracks here. The play was shortlisted for the Carol Tambor Award and a Total Theatre Award.
