PaCHAMAMA PRODUCTIONS: GLASGOW GIRLS
Originally co-produced by National Theatre of Scotland, Theatre Royal Stratford East & Regular Music, in association with Citizens Theatre & Richard Jordan Productions
SM Publicity handled PR for Glasgow Girls, directed by Cora Bissett with a book by David Greig, as part of their roster of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2016. The life-affirming, song-filled Scottish drama went on to become a top selling show of that year's festival, racking up a mighty 12,000+ ticket sales.
Glasgow Girls is based on the true story of seven feisty Glasgow based teenagers, whose lives change forever when their school friend and her asylum-seeking family are forcibly taken from their home to be deported. The performance features original songs across a host of genres including electronic grime from Patricia Panther, reggae-dub from Scots-Asian Rapper Sumati Bhardwaj (MC Soom T), folk-rock from Cora Bissett and original compositions for the Kielty brothers.
